DVD players are great but they have one major problem: they cannot record anything and can only play DVD's. But the days of the DVD player are numbered as the DVD recorder has finally been invented and it offers all of the recording functionality that you could ever want.
A DVD recorder records onto a blank DVD disc so that you can then play it in your DVD recorder or any other DVD player. They work in much the same was as a VHS video recorder and can record anything that is on television, they have a much better quality though being digital and can also usually record for longer.
Some DVD recorders also have a hard drive built in which offers a far greater level of recording as you can record without the need for a blank DVD disk. The hard drive is also much larger than any DVD disc and so can record a huge amount of programmes and the hard drive DVD recorders also often offer some very cool features such as the ability to pause and rewind live television.
The DVD recorders also often have Freeview built in so that you can simply select programmes from the Freeview menu for recording and this is allot easier than messing around setting times for the recording. When choosing a DVD recorder bear in mind that the hard drive models are much better and offer so much more than the standard DVD recorders, the size of the hard drive is very important though and so bear that in mind when you buy a hard drive DVD recorder.
