When you buy a camcorder it very important that it is digital and not analogue, the vast majority are digital but there are some cheap analogue camcorders available and so make sure that the camcorder that you are buying is digital. Also be sure to check that it has a good sized LCD screen as this makes using the camcorder so much easier; not only can you view your recordings easily but you can also shoot while viewing the LCD screen which can be much more comfortable and give you a much greater vision of what is happening around you. The zoom is also very important and it is the optical zoom that you need to pay attention to as the optical zoom is much better than that of the digital zoom.

Some of the mid-range camcorders are quite cheap and offer all that a man could need for filming friends and family occasions and there are also some mini camcorders that are very cheap and offer allot of fun although the quality is lacking.
